About Melanie

Melanie (Mel) Boyd-Brown is a seasoned executive leadership and systemic team coach with a rare blend of real-world leadership experience and advanced coaching credentials. As a former executive, she was known as a compelling leader – able to repeatedly decode what was required to build and sustain high-performing, results focused and engaged teams. She believes leaders and teams achieve their greatest impact when they balance strategic execution with intentional focus on how work gets done. She founded her work with a belief that “work can work better” for all of us.

She creates environments that inspire growth, combining strategic clarity with relational depth. Clients describe her as insightful, pragmatic, and deeply attuned to the human side of leadership without losing sight of strategic execution and operational excellence, Known for her ability to break down and reframe complex problems to get to the essence of what matters, she supports leaders and teams in building trust, momentum, and meaningful change, often with a dose of humor and humanity.

Education

Mel holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and an Accelerated Executive Leadership Certificate from Ivey School of Business.

Expertise

Mel’s coaching style is warmly challenging, results-focused, and grounded in systemic thinking. She holds a PCC designation with the ICF, Senior Practitioner with the EMCC, and is one of fewer than 1,000 coaches globally certified with the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching in addition to the EMCC Senior Practitioner Team Coaching Certification.

She is deeply interested in the science of behavioral change and is trained in and uses frameworks, models and tools from her training in NeuroLeadership, Brain-Based Coaching, Constellations Work, Immunity to Change, Vertical Development and systemic thinking to support clients’ growth. Certified in many psychometric assessments including Leadership Circle Profile, My WorldView, Global Leadership Profile, WE-I emotional-relational intelligence in conflict, EQ-I, and Gallup Clifton Strengths.

Mel has completed Coach Supervision Training with Oxford Brookes University, advanced Mentor Coach training, acts as support Faculty for a global team coaching program and is currently working towards her MCC coaching levels.

Experience

Starting in sales and growing into leadership positions in product, operations, and people functions with bottom-line accountability, Mel brings over a decade of executive experience in corporate, regulatory, and start-up environments including at CIBC, and IQ Partners Inc before founding her own firm. She has coached leaders and teams across more than 60 organizations, from scale-ups to enterprise.
